I think the DS212+ uses an arm cpu.
You could try downloading the 'lms arm sox binary' (https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver/raw/public/8.0/Bin/arm-linux/sox) which has opus support and try running it on the NAS. If it works, you should be able to replace /volume2/@appstore/SqueezeCenter/Bin/sox with the updated one, keeping a copy of the original file first. You may also need to change the permissions to match that of the current sox program. Quite often the execute permissions are dropped from downloaded files.
