Thanks Michael LMS was working for me on Catalina, and I do have Perl provided full disk access in the security settings. Something blocked disk access when I upgraded to Big Sur from Catalina. I see a section in security for "Media and Apple Music" that reads "Apps that have requested access to Apple Music, your music and video activity, and your media library appear here." However, there are no apps requesting access in this section. Perl is still checked in the "Full Disk Access" section of Privacy setting.
