Tx for the useful info on architecture - good to consider. As I said in
my OP I'm on a Pi4 with PCP in case that makes any difference. But I
suspect as you say it won't make a diff if I'm on an octacore latest CPU
with oodles of RAM, if something blocks then there will be issues.
I have often wondered if all the plugins that are ticked are necessary
as many seem out of date and superfluous. It'd be nice to have a "safe"
mode where they could all be temporarily disabled.

Though PCP apparently runs in RAM, I've also heard of sd-cards causing
odd behaviour so I will at some point scan it for errors, although I
don't know if that can be done from within PCP or if I have to pull it.
I'll also do an iperf check on the netweork though both the server and
this player are LAN connected.

The only thing I see in server.log is the below but they are not synced
to any pauses. I'm now on the release version of 8.0.0 - 1605892076 @
Fri Nov 20 21:33:25 CET 2020 and in the last few days have been Ok so
far.
(I still wonder though if there are some player operation type logs that
could indicate playback issues.)
