Could it be that the endpoint used to download a specific version is
broken?

That's always a possibility. But not in this case ;-)

When using

Code:
--------------------

http://www.mysqueezebox.com/update/?version=8.0.0&revision=1&geturl=1&os=debamd64
--------------------

it always returns the url to get the 8.1.0 package:

Code:
--------------------

http://downloads.slimdevices.com/LogitechMediaServer_v8.1.0/logitechmediaserver_8.1.0_amd64.deb
--------------------
The latest release version is 8.1.0. Therefore any update check given an older version would point to this release.

This is the case no matter what value is used for the version parameter.

Nope. Try eg.

http://www.mysqueezebox.com/update/?version=8.1.1&revision=1&geturl=1&os=debamd64

If you're asking for a nightly build version, then you'd get the latest revision for this development version.
