Ah, OK. In the past it would be that if I ask for 7.9.2 I get 7.9.2 and not the next major. What would be the way to get a specific version of a package?
I'm not sure I understand. What specific version would you want? There's three possibilities:
- you're on a version older than 8.1.0. You'd always get a link for this release version
- you are on 8.1.0 - you won't get any updates until 8.1.1 or 8.2.0 is released
- you're on an unreleased branch (8.1.1, 8.2.0), and you'll get a new build whenever there is one
Currently I would like to at least get the last stable version (namely 8.0.0) and in the best case also the latest major versions of 7.9 (but that's just nice to have).
8.0.0 is NOT the latest stable. 8.1.0 is. And that's why you get pointed to that version.
And there won't be any updates to 7.9 any more. So whatever there is is the latest in that branch and will be forever. No need to check for updates if you want to stick with an outdated package.
