I finally got it working with the help of everyone here.
What I did was: In the server.prefs file I went to line Allowed Hosts and it had the LMS server IP so I changed it to my laptops IP, that allowed me to get access to the LMS server. Then I went to the settings GUI and changed the Block Incoming Connections to Do Not Block So I can access the server from any device connected to the network. I don't know if only changing Filter Hosts to 0 from 1 would do it. I hope it makes sense. Thanks to everyone that pitched in.
