I am now up and running with LMS and would like to explain how this was achieved given that my user files (including my main music file) for my personal log on are on a permanently connected external 1TB T7 SSD. I always had a spare administrator account on the internal Macintosh SSD with empty user files. I simply loaded LMS onto that account and then added my main account user music file on the T7 to the list of media sources. LMS then loaded the library immediately and is now fully visible on my main user account also. I am sorry that I troubled you as my difficulty was due to lack of experience on the Mac and Big Sur. You can be assured that LMS works well with Apple Silicon.
