You said the "player seemed to reboot" and that it happens with PCP and Max2play.
I think you need to clarify what is exactly happening before it can be fixed. is it a h/w reboot ? is it an OS reboot ? is it a Squeezelite crash and reboot is it just a Squeezelite losing network connection ? somthing else ? The Pi's system log will tell you if OS or hardware rebooted. If OS or h/w didn't reboot, check the Squeezelite process ID before and after "reboot" - if it is the same then squeezelite has not crashed and restarted.
