Did it work in 7.9.1 ? or did you jump from 7.7.6 to 8.2 ? CUE file format are somewhat unregulated. There is an option in EAC to generate "unsupported" CUE file format. The problem usually relates to the use of the "INDEX" . IIRC Prior to a change in Oct 2020 - these cue file were processed incorrectly and but by accident managed to be playable. The change initially broke the "ignoring" of these files so it took a few iterations to have new change working and also "ignore" unsupported variations. However, A similar report to yours was posted in Jan but was unable to follow through in determining exact cause. I don't use CUE file so each time this sort of issue appears, it take a while to set up test to try tr replicate what is happening.
