Thanks for your reply. I'll try to rephrase my (admittedly trivial) issue: My issue is only with tags and nothing to do with disc numbering (which I do use). The issue is that I consider that the box-set title (e.g. "The Studio Albums 1972-1979") and the album title (e.g. "Desperado") belong in separate tags. This because, in my mind, "Desperado" is the album title (and so should get the "Album" tag), which is independent of it being in a box-set. Which leaves me with the problem where to store "The Studio Albums 1972-1979", the box-set title. There is no tag for this, I could create one but LMS will not use it, i.e. in browsing or searching of tags. I could work around it by putting "The Studio Albums 1972-1979: Desperado" in the Album tag (I now realize that year isn't need here as there is a tag for that). Or I could put "This disc is part of the box-set: The Studio Albums 1972-1979" in the Comments tag.
