I did hunt around a fair bit on the subject, but as you say there is a lot on it and I got rather overwhelmed by it all (hence me posting this thread) so it is good to have your experienced précis of it, thank you. I'll sleep on it... but my gut feeling is that giving up gigabytes to duplicates would bug me more than having to use (what I view as) a workaround! LMS does so much right that I will choose to embrace this as a quirk rather than dwell on it as an annoyance.
