Pi4 is a good solution and once setup, should be easy to swap HD and if
problem arise can swap back - so no loss of service.

Local files and playing on player in a local network will not be
affected. It will keep playing as long as hardware works - just no new
features as too hard to upgrade LMS.

"Inevitable" means gradually internet service operators are making https
a requirement and not optional depending on the URL. Some of them have
done it overnight & unannounced. Typically all HTTP URLs for a service
will be automatically redirected to equivalent HTTPS ones and the
service will stop playing if HTTPS support is not adequate.
