Remember, I'm the one who doesn't want this. But I've been using it several hours now, and I'm impressed. I miss the occasional surprises that occur with random play, the segues that make you think, "that can't possibly be random." So I'm glad there's an option to go back the usual implementation of random, but I think I'll be using this option much more than I expected. LMS 8 nightly running on Raspberry Pi OS.
