I think what Michael was inferring was that a Linux server on like for like hardware is likely to be considerably faster than running under Windows. A lot of us run our LMS on Linux but also have a Windows or Mac PC to do the music file editing exposing the files on the Linux box to the Windows / Mac PC by Samba or similar. Do you have your music files on the PC itself or by attached USB drives etc?
