But is LMS still a no-go with DSM 7.0, even if dockerized?

Dockerized LMS is fine, no matter what DSM. It's the nature of those containers to be as independent of the outside system as possible. What broke LMS on Synology in the first place was their updating Perl. That new Perl version was no longer compatible with the LMS package, and they never bothered to update the LMS package. Now the Docker image comes with its own Perl. That Perl version stays the same inside the container, no matter what the outside is using.

LMS run in Docker is no longer aware of the fact that it's run on a NAS. But Docker is not available on all Synology devices.
