Hello,
I hope I have the correct forum; I was unsure whether to post in 3rd
party software. I am having a problem with periodic and sustained high
CPU usage for the LocalPlayer plugin.

Configuration of LMS:
- LMS 8.2.0 in a VM, on Ubuntu 20.04.3 server OS.
- Installed via apt.
- Two cpus and 2gb RAM.
- No other server software is running.
- Using alsa sound system only (no pulse, pipewire, or jack is
installed).
- LocalPlayer plugin is installed and set up with defaults only.
- squeezboxserver and squeezeclient run as separate processes.

LMS server runs fine and without issue. However, when enabled, the
localplayer can run fine with very low CPU usage, and then, of a sudden,
it spikes to either about 50%, or 100% on one CPU, and stays there until
I disable the player. This can happen after LP start up, or at any point
up to many hours later.

Regardless of CPU usage, the player performs well otherwise. The real
annoyance is that CPU fan kicks up when this happens and becomes pretty
noisy.

Today, I set "Debug Settings" to all and started the player. Immediately
one CPU went to 50%. I disabled the player and saved the log, which is
attached. I've also attached the server.log covering this event.

Any ideas how to resolve this?
