I've been using Squeezeboxes for a while. Now after moving house, with
stuff still in storage, I brought 2 2nd hand Squeezebox 2's and both are
able to connect to the network, get an ip address (which I am able to
ping) but then say cannot connect to server, left to go back, right to
try again.

Originally I was using Ubuntu 12 (32 bit) Its been reliable and
untouched for years, with an old version of the Logitecmedia server.
The machine had not been switched on for several months. I formed the
opinion that even though I have neverused mysqueezeboxserver.com, the
old software may have been logging in to the site and I understand that
the site could be defunct. So I attempted instalation of 8.02 and this
failed, it seemed as if the perl version was too old.

I upgraded Ubuntu to 18.04 64bit, and was able to get the LMS running, a
scan was completed and although there are warnings in the log file about

Slim::Utils::Misc::msg (1341) Warning: [15:01:30.7614]
DBIx::Class::ResultSet::update_or_create(): Query returned more than one
row. SQL that returns multiple rows is DEPRECATED for ->find and
->single at /usr/share/perl5/Slim/Schema.pm line 1905

These *-are-* warnings so perhaps nothing to worry about.

I was able to login on port 9000, set up the music file directory and
see my music, and monitor the scan as it happened, which took aboutan
hour for . I was able to skip the mysqueezebox integration. The scan
says there are about 46000 songs which would be right.

But still the same problem persists.

The squeezebox2's do not manage to connect to the server. One of them I
have done a factory reset, one I have not but it makes no difference.

Any pointers anyone can give? The web says that this could be a
firewall issue, but I dont think so as server and squeezebox are all on
192.168.1.XX and the server has a static IP.

Any hints much appreciated.
