By "hang" I just mean that the server status in the prefpane indicates that it is "starting" rather than running (and the Start Server option is greyed out). It has remained like this for 5 hours. According to Activity Monitor, perl5.18 is only using 0.2% CPU, so LMS is not perfoming intensive tasks.
