I'm happy to try it. I have a 2019 27" Retina iMac which I use for LMS
(and dev, and everything else), and I have a new 16" M1 Laptop which
could be renamed Guinea Pig.

There shouldn't be any surprises. It should just look and behave the
same as before. But if you check Settings/Information you should see
that the Perl version is 5.34.0 (rather than 5.18). And on the M1, the
activity monitor should show that the perl instance is an Apple binary,
rather than Intel.
About the prefs panel, time for it to dig a hole and place itself at the
bottom, and watch from below as Herger pushes dirt atop the ol'
has-been.
