I had previously looked at the basic setting menu. There are two check boxes that are in the screen area around the location of the Music folder, but neither is labeled with text. I confirmed this with my wife, who can see, because sometimes my screen reader misses things on web pages. She unchecked one of the unlabeled boxes, and my issue is fixed!!! I think this is a bug in the interface of the version of LMS I am running. The "default" skin showed the same problem. But, my Win7 computer is now back from the shop and version 8.1.1 rather than 8.2.0 has no such missing text. Basic setting shows check boxes for "video" AND "PICTURES". Thanks so much for helping me resolve this issue.
