Ohh.

Well try connecting directly to your modem first.  If you haven't been
able to get that working it won't work with the Linux box.  Once you
get it working, it will probably work with the Linux box and if it
doesn't, that's another issue.

So connect it to the modem and set a static IP the same as the Linux
box's WAN IP.  Or if the Linux box's WAN IP is assigned by DHCP, set
the Squeezebox to DHCP.

Check the modem configuration page for details.  Yes, they can have web
pages just like routers if you enter their LAN IP address into your
browser URL bar.  Modems cannot generally block by MAC address but you
may have gotten the Squeezebox IP address, DNS or gateway address
wrong.
