'Cause the server gives me quick access to all 124 of my favorite bookmarked SN radio feeds (via MyPicks), complete with a user friendly interface. I use SB almost exclusively for internet radio, both out of the box and through SN at work etc. And much of that time is spent away from the Big Stereo, listening via SN. But the SN web interface doesn't have an embedded player (tried to get them interested in an earlier thread, but nobody took the bait), though you can register an "emulator" like Softsqueeze (has anyone figured out a way to get the SN web interface to accept WMP or WinAmp directly as a recognized "player"?). If I'm away from my SB3, my choices reduce to SN or the Great Unknown, so to play my SN favorites I just pull the server into the loop. I can then use its web interface to select my SN favorites via MyPicks, press play and let WMP run with the feed.
I don't know a way to convert an OPML file (my Squeezenetwork favorites) to a windows pls playlist or m3u file, without a whole lot of text editing. Plus, treating the SN stream itself as playlist means when I open WMP my favorites I'm accessing a dynamically updated online list. Whenever I alter or rearrange my rapidly growing SN favorites, those changes are almost instantly available in my player of choice. -- Fleury ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fleury's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9783 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=32453 _______________________________________________ squeezenetwork mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/squeezenetwork
