Regardless of what the major labels, the RIAA and their proxies say about piracy, what's quoted above is the exact heart of the issue. They're attempting to undo the idea that you can pretty much do what you want with music you've legally purchased, and substitute a much more limited set of options. The dirty little secret of digital storage is that it screws with the back catalog.
