Hey thanks everyone for the great background. Maggior your advice is good -- I should just check out the trial. The funny thing is I don't think my ears are very good (too many years abusing them like the rest of my body) but I just got done upgrading my 2-channel audio setup and keep hoping it wasn't my ears but my system :-) I'm re-ripping all my CDs to ALE b/c I do seem to be able to tell at least between a bad MP3 and CDs.
