Is anyone aware if there is currently a general issue with connecting
directly to the SqueezeNetwork?

I set my Squeezebox Duet up for the first time last night and the
initial set-up was problem free. After several hours it appeared I
could no longer connect to the SqueezeNetwork. I was also experiencing
the issue with a limited number of options on the home menu that several
other posts have mentioned. I reset both the receiver and handset and
tried repeating the set-up (and even deleted both from my
SqueezeNetwork account to emulate setting everything up from scratch)
but get stuck at the point where a connection to the SqueezeNetwork is
attempted.

I have a ReadyNAS NV+ and downloaded the latest version of
SqueezeCenter. If I select the ReadyNAS as my music source everything
seems to function as intended (I can stream online radio and music from
my Rhapsody subscription). I can also now see all the original options
in the home menu. If I now try to switch my music source back to
SqueezeNetwork I can the error message "Could not connect Squeezebox to
SqueezeNetwork"?

Just out of curiosity, is there any functional difference between
connecting directly to the SqueezeNetwork or through SqueezeCenter on
my ReadyNAS? I assume that connecting directly avoids the need to have
a computer on and running SqueezeCenter. My ReadyNAS is my main storage
so it's on 24 hours.

Many thanks for any input!
