I don't know if this is related or not but: I wonder if you now have incompatible server software and player firmware. Because you are now using SS6.5.4 server software with a firmware version intended for SC7.0.1 I wonder if the two won't play nice together? Maybe re-set firmware back to SS6.5.4 version? After connecting your SB3 to SS just press and hold the Brightness button to update (or, downgrade, as it were) the SB3 firmware.
