Try restarting the computer and then opening Squeezecenter - Also, make sure that yoour XM plugin is active in the Settings - Plugins directory in SC.
I'm pretty sure that SC checks the Plugins directory and loads them when it starts - I'm not at my PC with SC installed now, so I can't check where XM is in the SC directory - Just expand all of them and look down - It's a yellow and black icon. Beyond that, I will quickly get into the area of telling you more than I know ...
