But now, I am unsure. Let me state how I think it works:
The server is debian linux. AFAIK I can't set SC auto-update (unless
using an automated apt-get which somehow scares me.) 
Unless SC is updated, player firmwares are not updated, right ?

I fear/foresee the kind of firmware upgrade/downgrade we've seen
recently when going back and forth between SN and SC 7.2.1.
It makes switching slow, and things will break (their nerves and/or
software in the server)

Or am I wrong: SC does pull firmware updates independently of SC
updates themselves ?  And/or   SC auto-update exists ?
