The bottom line is the BBC don't really like the Internet as a medium to distribute their domestic services as they are big on promoting DAB. With online, they prefer people use the iplayer on their website. Perhaps the main factor in play is the fact that the BBC is entirely funded by British residents who are required to purchase a very expensive TV & Radio license. The BBC are not required to invest this revenue on any external internet feeds carrying this domestic programming paid for by license holders.
