Yes it can. My local net is not rerouted by the VPN (a "split tunnel"),
so the SB and the computer can see each other. 

However, my problem is that the Squeezebox Center on the computer
cannot connect to mysqueezebox.com on port 3483 or 9000 because it is
not on the local network.
