Ah, ok, that is not normal.  I'd suggest trying a Factory Reset on your
SB3/Classic player, if still no go try a Xilinx reset.

SB3  Factory Reset:
Unplug power, press and hold down the add (+)  button on the remote,
plug power back in (whilst continuing to hold down the add button)
SB3 Xilinx Reset:
Unplug power, press and hold down the one (1)  button on the remote,
plug power back in (whilst continuing to hold down the one button)

Once it is connected to MySqueezeBox.com press & hold the Brightness
button to update the player firmware.

Are you only using MySqueezeBox.com online?
Also, don't interrupt the SB3/Classic when it is booting up and getting
itself connected to your network and MySqueezeBox.com.  
Only intervene if you actually see "can't connect" on the screen.  Once
setup you should never have to go through the Setup procedure again.
