How are WIMP doing in that area . Do they sneek in some loudness equalisation or do they use replay gain tags ? The way it should be done is replay gain tags . 1. It does not corrupt any audio data, it's only a tag 2. the user is free to turn the function on or off WIMP could even mimic LMS smart gain function if they wanted , embedding apropriate tags if the files are in an album context or playlist context . I'm no expert in this at all , i rarely use it . But it is an popular function and it's very important to have it done rigth if it's going to be any "Hi Fi" about this imho. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub.
