I must say that I'm VERY unhappy with Wimp right now. On their website they state that "Der einzige Musikstreamingservice, der seinen kompletten Musikkatalog in verlustfreier Soundqualität anbietet." Which means that they claim to be the only streaming service that offers their entire catalogue in lossless quality.
I spent about 10 Minutes with the Smart Mix Plugin created Playlist, and of all the albums in that mix, not even 20% were in FLAC format. The fast and friendly service admitted that not all tracks are available as FLAC since it can happen that the original file is defective (???) and that it is impossible to check in a catalogue of 20000000 files. While it may be true that it isn't trivial to recode everything, it's their job to make sure that the majority of files is available in FLAC, especially if they claim all titles to be lossless on their website. They charge 100% more for lossless streaming, and I get lossy 256k (less than Spotify) most of the time. Unacceptable. This has nothing to do with mhergers great work on the Wimp plugin or on his fantastic Smart Mix Plugin, but I needed a place to vent my displeasure. Sorry for the Off Topic! I'll give Wimp Service one more chance to give a meaningful statement on this topic, and I think I might then go to the various Online Portals and tell them to look into this and post some news about it. Maybe they'll do, maybe not. I think people should be aware what they are paying for and what they re getting. I'd really like to know how many FLAC files Wimp actually has in their catalogue... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CommanderROR's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59408 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=99514
