I spoke with Wimp support, and they told me AAC for Squeezebox would be
no problem, but Squeezebox (I guess they meant Logitech) dropped Wimp
support due to change in management???
This seems to be one of those stupid claims their support gives. I've
heard that before and asked my contacts at WiMP directly. Here's what
their COO responded to my request:
"The response from our customer support on "not supporting dead
platforms" is absolutely not the official standpoint of WiMP !
SB has been an important platform for us, and still has a significant
amount of traffic, and with XXX being supported shortly (hopefully),
then even more so."
XXX being a country _they_ have asked _us_ to add.
That said: the fact that the SB doesn't play their AAC streams is our
decision/limitation, not theirs. As our older players don't support it
natively, we decided to just go with MP3 instead.
