keep them on the same network that's your first problem all IP should be in the 192.168.1.x subnet 255.255.255.0 range otherwise it would not work ( easilly ) and it migth also be some fuzz configuring your NAS . Easy fix just by a small network switch and connect the squeezebox and the NAS to that and wire the switch back to the router .
