The search history in the official Spotify app doesn't really work for me. What is being shown is different (iPeng, LMS web interface) and not complete. I don't understand how it works, but the last searches being displayed seem different every time I open the search history.
I think the search history is client specific. You'd get distinct lists for distinct players. And it's not persistent. It _could_ get deleted after a few days or weeks of inactivity.
