Yes, I think the legacy endpoint is on the short list for full
retirement.For now, calling it to get substitute streamUrls is working
well with my squeezelite clients, both direct and remote streaming.

I also tested the simple scheme substitution workaround posted earlier
(http -> https). The software clients handled the substituted https
scheme fine, but remote streaming (synchronized players) resulted in the
403 response no matter which scheme was used.

I have not yet tested the direct https scheme on my Radio, sounds like
maybe that hardware might not support https.
