I was not clear in my previous post. I did not mean using mysb as the
server for squeezelite, but the fact that players appear on mysb in the
list so that you can enable or disable (eg) Tidal on them. I deleted
(deregister) a player on mysb and normally LMS re-registers it. But it
only re-registered the native SBs, no squeezelite instance is being
registered

I went through several iterations of changing how software players are being handled in the past. Without going into too much details, this is all off the top of my head:

- the code dealing with software players hasn't changed in years
- software players are not supposed to connect to mysqueezebox. If it's still possible somehow, then this is unexpected/a bug, and behaviour is undefined.
- my software players still show up in mysb via LMS registering them
- LMS should allow you to access apps even for non-registered devices

You can enable logging for mysb activity in LMS (network.squeezenetwork) to see whether there's a problem there.
