It is a problem with your outlook express. Go to Tools > options > send > Change the mail sending format to Plain text. Click the Plain text options and change to Uuencode from MIME version.

I have compiled Squid 2.5 stable 5 on a Redhat 9 server
Linux version 2.4.20-31.9smp ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc
version 3.2.2
20030222 (Red Hat Linux 3.2.2-5)) #1 SMP Tue Apr 13 17:40:10 EDT 2004

but I get a msg saying

What is your default ulimit -HSn saying?

how do i check for the default?

checking for strerror... (cached) yes
checking Default FD_SETSIZE value... 256
checking Maximum number of filedescriptors we can open... 256
WARNING: 256 may not be enough filedescriptors if your

If so stop the compilation. Change the #ulimit -Hsn XXXX Then configure with the modifications, can you now get the changes on FD_SETSIZE value. Are you configuring and compiling the squid with root permission?

did this previously but it has not made a difference. and yes, all installs are done at root.

grep FD_SETSIZE typesizes.h
#define __FD_SETSIZE            1024
define __FD_SETSIZE 157272

what is your /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_local_port_range settings? why you are going for this 157272 limit ? It is enough to have 32768 or 32768*2 limit __FD_SETSIZE as the maximum requirement.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] fs]# more /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_local_port_range
32768 61000

hope this helps

rgds, hement
