I uncommented never_direct directive, which
says,
acl all src 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0
never_direct allow all
But still it did not work. Then i edited the
/etc/hosts file, and entered ip addresses for
google.com, and google.co.in. After this i started
squid and and typed www.google.com on a browser, it
worked. So, maybe squid does require a dns server for
reslving its acl [to_localhost]. That's what I found
when I increased the debug level to 3 and saw that
www.google.com was being compared to [to_localhost],
BEFORE i edited the /etc/hosts file.
