Question is what does "generic NTLM" mean?
NTLM being the collective brand name (yes brand name) for a collection of security encryptions which includes things as far as Windows 3.1 CRC "encryption". Little better than clear text in terms of security.


network.automatic-ntlm-auth.allow-proxies - should be set to true, and probably also resolves most Firefox popups when using a proxy without needing to force generic NTLM.
