Its was my system setup that Craig was helping me set up squidGuard. I 
could not get the sample conf to work for my system. The only way I could 
get to the internet initially was to use the time restriction in the 
source.

Basically what I was seeing was the general message screen coming up 
telling me the times that access was allowed. Yet the machine that I was 
on was not able to get through. Following Craig's advice I moved the time 
restriction from the source to the acl definitions.
