I was using db 2.7.x, I then upgraded to db 3.3.x from the squidguard 
site, and had problems with the compile as it was looking for a db 3.2.x 
version. I then downgraded to db 3.2.x from the sleepycat software site, 
recompiled and now everything is working fine :)
