Quick and Dirty Mandrake 8.2 Setup (shoulda posted this while my memory was
fresh)

Somewhat in this order

mkdir /var/log/squidGuard/log
chown -R squid.squid /var/log/squidGuard/
mkdir /etc/squidGuard
ln -s /etc/squid/squidGuard.conf /etc/squidGuard/squidGuard.conf

edit the squid.conf and make sure the line

redirect_program /usr/bin/squidGuard

is in place

as well as the proper ACL's for your ip addresses
edit the squidGuard.conf in /etc/squid/squidGuard.conf to add the proper ACL
and DEST lists. (You should have already completed this, from what your
email states)

then try service squid restart

and see what your log files say...

If it still doesn't work, e-mail me and I'll try and see if we can work out
the rest...

Oh yeah, If you set anything higher than normal security, you'll need to go
into /etc/cron.daily and cron.hourly and remove the msec entries. msec will
!$%^@ up your files (ownership and mode). Since I just started testing this
new mandrake I've been stumped by settiing up msec to leave my files alone.
No good documentation seems available either. Anyone got any hints?
