East Meets West: Art from the Other Side March 2, 2002 6:00pm-1:00am Sliding scale donations of at least $5-$10 ----> Event Description <----------------------------------------------- East Meets West: Art from the Other Side When: Saturday, March 2, 2002, 6pm�1am Where: Facility 3 <http://www.facility3.com> 1850 Cesar Chavez, Bldg 3 San Francisco, CA 94124 Contact: Joe Mangrum 415-643-3993 Facility 3 and The Institute For Unpopular Culture present East Meets West: Art from the Other Side, an art event examining disparity and likeness among emerging talent from the Bay Area. This presentation will explore myth, realism, time, emotion, angst and spirituality as expressed in different mediums. There will be a Collectors Preview with appetizers from 6-8pm. The requested donation for the collectors� portion of the event ranges from $10- $100. The general viewing will be held from 8-10pm with a requested minimum donation of $5. There will be a fixed price art sale. The party will commence at 10pm with music, appetizers and a cash bar. A live Web cast will be featured on www.vulcanradio.com. Facility 3 is a multi-function art space used to produce and present artworks of diverse media. The venue functions as workspace for a selection of artists on an ongoing basis and has served as a venue for numerous performances of music, theater, storytelling and art of all media. Secure off-street parking is available. Extended gallery hours will be held for further viewing of the art show: Sunday, March 3rd, 2-5pm Thursdays, March 7th & 14th, 6-9pm or by appointment.
