An evening of experimental 16mm cinema.

GEORGE KUCHAR
“The Mongroliod”
1978, 16mm, color/so, 10 min.
A man, his dog, and the regions they inhabited each leaving his own
distinctive mark on the landscape. Not even time can wash the residue
of what they left behind.

DOMINIC ANGERAME "CONSUME" 12 minutes 16mm black and white color sound Starring Zhanna. Pomolusya ("I Will Pray") Ukranian Prayer performed by Zhanna, recorded and mastered by Zak May. Excepts from "Lyrical" and "Chaos" from the tribe recording of Gabrielle Roth and the Mirrors with permission from Raven Recording

Inspired by the novel FLICKER by Theodore Roszak, this film was
intended to explore the images captured in the flickering light of
multiple projector beams. By utilizing superimpositions within the
camera, one could experience the pulsating light and explore hidden
imagery through use of the "Sally Rand" that Roszak refers to.

However, once production began...the projector beams began to put both
myself and my actress into a trance state due to the strobe light it
presented...the resulting film turned into a trance by natural
evolution and in essence the film becomes even more...

It becomes an exploration into oneself and the sense of seeing and
being at the same time...both an inward journey and an outward one..

JAN DOYLE "E.Motion.al Stud.ees" (1982) 5 min. B&W/sound 16mm Animating my anima through the archetypal images of E. Muybridge.

AMY MILLER "Loon to WaterTurkey" ( 1982) 8 min. B&W/sound 16mm An underwater journey facing loss of spirit and dissolution.

AMY MILLER and JAN DOYLE "Paradise" (1982) 4 min B&W/sound 16mm Two pair of eyes meet to share something new, combined to create an environment where magic is very much at home.

BRENDAN LOTT “Revolution 6” (2001) 6 min B/W/ silent 16mm It doesn’t actually say, “Paul is dead”, and the people are pissed.

MICHELLE SILVA “Anthrax Island” (2002) 8 min B/W/silent 16mm I stayed in Hell’s Kitchen, around West 45th and 9th Ave where a disgruntled mailman handed my mail to me with latex gloves. Anthrax had just contaminated the nearest post office. This film is a portrait of the force of paranoia. A portrait of New York City post- 911…
