Power Tool Racer Build Day

Saturday, May 22nd

noon - dark

free

----> Event Description <-----------------------------------------------

This Saturday, not Sunday, May 22nd we are talking, testing, building
and destroying power tool drag racers at the Shipyard.

There will be 75 feet of track set up for the above purposes. And
there will be an open shop to help you create or recreate your
creation, assuming you haven't already, as well as a finally working
hot tub and really loud and angry (but good) music by DJ
Ryon "moondoggy" Gesink. Big machinery in various states of disrepair
will also be on hand should you want to lend your hand in our
continuing battle against entropy and the slow corrosion of the
universe.

BBQ and beer will be provided by the fine film crew from Natural
History New Zealand (currently on the dole of the Discovery Channel)
but you can bring some of your own food and drink too if you like.

This is also an opportunity to meet the film crew and realize that they
are very nice folk who seem set on NOT making us look like compete
idiots at the end of all this. They are still looking for more racers
to interview/feature and you can explore that possibility with them on
Saturday if you like.

We start at noon and go until dark.

If you haven't registered your machine yet, or want to see the rules
for the various classes, you might want to take a look at www.qbox.org.
