Liss Fain Dance is known coast to coast for its innovative blending of fast-paced modern dance with the clarity and vertical lift of ballet. Now in a special home season performance, Artistic Director Liss Fain, heralded by Voice of Dance critic Allan Ulrich as "hellipa choreographer who takes the chances that matter," masterfully demonstrates the stirring capacity of movement in combination with voice to express deep emotions. Fain and the company's nine dancers premiere a powerful new work entitled "When Still," set entirely to vocal music including Monteverdi's Madrigals of Love and War and medieval Gregorian chant recorded by San Francisco's own Grammy-award winning Chanticleer.
