Hi Harold, Thank you so much for writing me back!

The root of > the SSL directory tree is defined in there with a statement like: When I first started looking at SSL, I noticed alot of references to ssl.conf. Where I really got confused is, I did a full search on the computer, and that file didn't exist. I did find a file called openssl.cnf. So, I copied that file as ssl.conf and added an include in httpd.conf. But, when I start Apache, I get errors, and it can't start. I'm beginning to wonder if apache is even configured to work with ssl. I'm running webmin 1.30 and I look in there at the installed modules, and mod_ssl is there. Do I need to do anything else? Is there a setup for apache somewhere where I tell it to run ssl? > Follow the instructions starting on page 161 of the RH8.0 > Customization Guide to creae your own key and certificate. Where do you get this guide from? I have a really good apache book that stepped through the process of creating a key and certificate, but I'd like to see what redhat says about it.
