I'm going to cut the content of the error messages below, and give you
a quick update on why a lot of things probably will appear broken for
a bit.

So here we go. A short while ago, even before I started working with
the SquirrelMail project, the team was split into two major parts.
Stable, and development. This allowed a stable series to keep working
while highly experimental code was being introduced. Some of these
introductions also meant a moving of some files, and
introduction/removal of certain functions. Due to this, some plugins
are likely to break. The quickest way to find out which will break, is
see how it is including global.php or validate.php if they are even
used. The reason I point to these files, as these are two of the main
files that have been moved. global.php moved from src/ to functions/
and validate from functions/ to include/.

As with most projects, the life of the development series slowly
starts to fade away as it becomes more stable, reliable, and worthy of
the task it set out to do. And recently it was decided amongst the
developers and admin, that this time had come. The 1.3 development
release has ceased to be (shuffled off this mortal coil so to speak
;), and has now been shifted (renamed) to 1.4 stable (currently
1.4rc1). Soon after the official release of 1.4, a new devel branch
will pop-up, under the 1.5 title.
